Donald W. Reynolds Governor's Cup Sponsors & Participants
AEAF is dedicated to the refinement and expansion process of the competition and has since collaborated with several community partners to ensure the success of the Donald W. Reynold's Governor's Cup.
With a vision for promoting entrepreneurship, business leaders conceived the idea for a statewide business plan competition. These leaders had a vision for a first-class competition; one that would send a message to students that the resources to succeed in business can be found right here in Arkansas.
In 2004, the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation made a major grant to the competition, while providing the funds to establish sister statewide business plan
competitions in Oklahoma and Nevada. With the foundation's gift, the competition was named after the late media entrepreneur for whom the foundation is also
named. Headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation is one of the largest private foundations in the United States.

A Message from Walter Hussman, the 2008 Donald W. Reynolds Governors Cup Chairman
Dear Potential Sponsor,
Little Rock is the host to one of the premier business plan competitions in America. Founded in 2001, the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup invites all
21 four-year colleges and universities in Arkansas to participate in the business plan competition. Over the past seven years, nearly 1000 students from our
state’s four-year colleges and universities have competed for a prize pool of $194,000. The award luncheon will be held on April 17, at the Statehouse
Convention Center and will feature my good friend and former classmate, Peter Grauer as keynote speaker.
Peter T. Grauer is Chairman and President of Bloomberg L.P., the global financial media company that was founded in 1981. He has been a member of the
Bloomberg Board since October 1996 and was named Chairman of the Board in March 2001 succeeding New York City Mayor, Michael R. Bloomberg. He was Managing
Director of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette from 1992 to 2000 when DLJ was acquired by Credit Suisse First Boston. Peter is a founder of DLJ Merchant
Banking Partners and DLJ Investment Partners. Peter graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1968 and the Harvard University Graduate School of
Business, Program for Management Development in 1975.
Since 2001, the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup has awarded $700,000 to Arkansas’ four-year college and university students and has been recognized by
national publications including Business Week and USA Today. I am asking you to support the 2008 Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup by reserving a table of
ten for $1,500. The Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup is a program of The Arkansas Economic Acceleration Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Please forward your checks to: The Arkansas Economic Acceleration Foundation, P. O. Box 7332, Little Rock, AR 72217. Questions concerning the luncheon may
be directed to Sam Walls, III or Leslie Lane at the Arkansas Capital Corporation, 501-374-9247.
Please join me in supporting the students who will ultimately build our entrepreneurial infrastructure. The Arkansas Economic Acceleration Foundation is
committed to establishing an environment for entrepreneurial success in Arkansas that is second to none. Your support of this event will be a tremendous
step toward that goal. I look forward to seeing you at the April 17th luncheon with Peter Grauer and some of the most innovative students in Arkansas.
These young entrepreneurs have learned that Arkansas is a land of opportunity where our business community supports growing our states’ economy from
within. Through your support, we can send a message to Arkansas’ aspiring entrepreneurs that they hold the key to the growth of our state through their
vision and ability to found the next great Arkansas company.
Sincerely yours,
Walter E. Hussman, Jr.
